Who we are
Platbound is operated by Mavoryl. Write to us at support@platbound.com about anything on this page.
This website
This site collects one thing: the email address you type into the notify form. We keep it until we send you the launch email, or until you ask us to delete it — whichever comes first.
No cookies, no analytics, no trackers, no advertising. Nothing is collected if you simply read the page.
The app
Platbound reads Steam data about your own account, at your request, from two places: the public Steam Web API (requested through our proxy, which holds the API key so it never ships inside the app), and files the Steam client has already stored on your device. The app is read-only — it never writes anything back to Steam.
Your achievement and progress data is cached on your own device so the app opens instantly. Our servers keep no profile of you: the proxy passes requests through and caches responses briefly at the edge, and community actions like requesting coverage for a game are recorded against an identifier derived from your Steam ID, so repeat requests can be counted once.
Your subscription
Payments are handled by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. Your email, billing address and card details are given to Paddle, not to us — we never receive them and keep no account for you. What we store is a licence key we generated, the Paddle customer and subscription identifiers it belongs to, its status, and the random installation ids of the devices it is active on (up to five).
While a subscription is active, requests for curated game content are recorded against a non-secret identifier for that licence so we can spot one subscription being used to copy the whole catalogue. Those records carry no name, email or Steam ID, and they are deleted after three months. To cancel, or to ask us to delete your licence data, write to support@platbound.com.
Crash reports
When it ships, the app sends crash and error reports so we can fix what breaks. These carry no Steam identity — only a random installation id — and you can turn crash reporting off in the app's settings. Sentry deletes them 30 days after they arrive.
Where the data lives
Cloudflare's edge network and R2 storage, in the European Union and the United States. Crash reports are processed by Sentry, in the European Union and the United States.
Your rights
Email support@platbound.com and we will tell you everything we hold about you, or delete it. There is very little to delete, which is the point.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date at the top changes with it.
